Job summary

Ocho is seeking a Software Engineer in Belfast to own the end-to-end backend lifecycle, helping scale a cloud security platform used by enterprise customers. You will work across Go/Java, collaborate with DevOps and Security teams, and influence architectural decisions.

The role offers hybrid work with three onsite days in Belfast, exposure to cutting-edge cloud security challenges, and a path to accelerated career growth within a unicorn-backed engineering hub.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend development experience in any high-performing language.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Exposure to data-intensive systems (databases, messaging, event-driven systems)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices
• Experience working within microservices architectures

Responsibilities

• Owning the full development lifecycle – from design and development through to deployment and monitoring
• Making technical and architectural decisions that impact high-scale cloud security platforms
• Improving the performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems
• Conducting design and code reviews to maintain high engineering standards
• Collaborating closely with Frontend, DevOps, and Security teams

The Role

As a Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

• Owning the full development lifecycle – from design and development through to deployment and monitoring

About You
