Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Network DevOps Engineer to join a multinational Digital Excellence function in the UK. The role centers on modernising network management, driving automation, and building software-driven infrastructure with a focus on reliability and scalability through code.

You will design and maintain production-grade software and tools, implement automated testing, and develop data models with state-driven automation.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain production-grade software and custom tools, primarily in Python, to manage network infrastructure at scale.
Champion software engineering best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and the development of clean, maintainable code.
Establish and implement an automated software testing strategy, including the evaluation and selection of appropriate tools and frameworks.
Manage and extend the network Source of Truth through the development of custom data models, plugins, and state-driven automation jobs.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the testing and deployment of network changes.
Collaborate on the development of Ansible playbooks and roles for network configuration, applying software development principles to improve reliability and maintainability.
Support and mentor team members to help develop their software engineering capabilities.
