Role Description

We are seeking a Software Development Team Leader with a strong focus on developing production-grade software, extensive experience with Azure services, and proficiency in Java, Python, and PySpark. You will manage a team and collaborate with a third-party vendor to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Owning the development team in design, development, coding, and testing.
  • Managing all the activities of the software development team and setting goals for each team member to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Keeping up to date with the latest development software.
  • Hiring and training new developers.
  • Providing mentorship to the team and ensuring they adhere to development standards.
  • Ensuring adequate documentation exists.
  • Building alliances and working with other partner pillars within Kantar for a shared goal.
  • Directing a team of 4 people and a vendor team of 15-20.

Required

Essential:

  • Experience in data processing applications.
  • Practical production experience in software implementation.
  • Experience working with high-level sophisticated problem definitions using algorithms.
  • Good social skills.
  • Experience working in a distributed team.
  • Background in software development or in a hands-on technical role.

Desirable:

  • Spark data processing.
  • Cloud technologies – Azure, DataBricks, Kubernetes.
  • Software architectural skills.
  • DevOps.
  • Agile / Scrum certified.
  • Strong understanding of data security, including encryption/decryption.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams and collaborating with third-party vendors.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, particularly in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, is highly desirable.
