Job Duties and Qualifications

We are looking to recruit an experienced Software Development Team Lead. Reporting to the Delivery Manager and working closely with the Product Owner, you will be responsible for leading a team of software developers, testers, and spatial data and database specialists to develop, deliver, and maintain a suite of applications as part of a multi-year roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the team to deliver new products, features and fixes iteratively using an Agile approach working with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, Developers and QAs.
2. Provide technical input to the Product Owner in collaboration with architects and other developers.
3. Act as first point of escalation to ensure impediments are removed and team maintains development velocity and achieves committed sprint goals.
4. Communicate and escalate issues in a clear and timely manner.
5. Manage the team including day-to-day operations and career development for team members.
6. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging technologies relevant to the role.

Essential Attributes

1. 10+ years of experience in Software development of complex applications with an excellent understanding of design principles and best practices.
2. Team Lead experience leading software engineering teams using an Agile methodology.
3. Experience in two or more of the following programming languages: Java, C#, JavaScript/Node, and/or Python.
4. Proficient in Kubernetes and Docker for containerization and orchestration.
5. Experience with Front-End Frameworks: Angular and React.
6. Knowledge of Linux.
7. Familiarity with build pipeline tools and technologies such as GitLab.
8. Must be self-motivated but work well in a team environment.
9. Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
10. Self-starter; willing to learn new technologies and able to learn quickly.
11. Team player; willing to coach team members and cooperate on problem-solving.
12. Ability to establish credibility with engineers quickly and provide long-term goals and motivation.
13. Excellent facilitation skills for cross-stakeholder discussions, both internal and external.
14. Proficient in Azure DevOps work management platform.

Desirable Attributes

1. Experience in the Geology domain, especially Oil and Gas.
2. Proficient in AWS services, including RDS, EKS, EC2, and Lambda.
3. Extensive knowledge of .NET framework and .NET Core.
4. Strong experience with Spring Boot and related technologies.
5. Hands-on experience with Terraform.
6. Experience with Ansible and AWX.
7. Undergraduate degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
8. Agile certification.
9. Experience working with remote teams.
