Computacenter is offering a 13-month industrial placement in Hatfield for an undergraduate in their 2nd year studying Computer Science. Join the Solution Center team as a Software Developer and Programmer to showcase our offerings and drive innovation in the business.

You will work on live prototyping, proofs of concept, and demonstrations, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment while exploring Azure, NodeJS, Python, and cloud technologies. Travel across Europe may be possible.

Qualifications

• Be studying at undergraduate level in your 2nd year of university for a Computer Science focussed degree.
• Willing to work with a range of development platforms, including Microsoft Azure, Power products, backend development (NodeJS), Python, web development, and cloud technologies (Azure/AWS/Terraform).
• Have the ability and drive to pick up new languages or techniques as needed.
• Display confidence in bringing own ideas into any task and being a self-starter.
• Show a strong work ethic in a dynamic customer-facing environment.
• Work autonomously and independently where required.

Responsibilities

• Create showcases to bring to life our global strategic investments.
• Assist in ideation sessions with live prototyping.
• Be responsible for creating demonstrations and Proof of Concepts.
• Provide innovation consultancy across the business and for our customers.
• Have hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment which will provide an opportunity to learn and work on innovative solutions for our customers.
• Research and suggest new innovative technologies and methods to solve our project requirements.
