We are looking for talented software engineers to join our global Velocity Black by Capital One engineering team, with the opportunity to specialise in frontend, backend, or work in a full-stack capacity. As a Software Development Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to be at the forefront of driving a major transformation by merging these two innovative companies. What you’ll do

1. Deliver functionality surrounding the ability to make a request and message back and forth while helping to define and adopt best practices
2. Work in a fast-paced, collaborative technical environment
3. Utilise programming languages and tools like React Native, React, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, microservices, AI, ML, open-source frameworks, DevOps, large data sets, and more
4. Perform software development leveraging a test-driven development pattern
5. Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
6. Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community

What we’re looking for

1. Experience working in an agile engineering environment
2. Proven experience in software development using JavaScript or TypeScript
3. Experience with testing software (automated tests or Test Driven Development)
4. Previous experience working with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service
5. Have a passion for continued learning of the latest JavaScript and ES versions and trends

What you’ll get to learn (any previous experience would be advantageous)

1. An in-depth understanding and experience working with the cloud/AWS and the opportunities that it brings
2. Solving real-world problems and being comfortable working in a complex regulated environment

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position based in our London office.

We have a hybrid working model, so you’ll be based in our offices 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and can work from home on Monday and Friday.
