Software Development Engineer, Ring (Web)

Join our team in Warsaw to accelerate the adoption of low-cost whole home security solutions to make neighborhoods safer!

You will build user interfaces and backend integrations to assist customers with purchases, including checkout experiences, automated recommendations, and a knowledge base for self-service. Your goal is to create a unified platform that enhances customer experience by providing product and feature information, troubleshooting, and DIY support. These solutions will leverage Ring and Amazon back-end services on AWS.

You can expect to work with serverless micro-services and API integrations, adhering to the AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Write, test, and deploy code using Amazon and AWS tools.
  2. Develop automated unit, integration, and canary tests.
  3. Design new user interfaces and features, addressing technical challenges and proposing solutions.
  4. Follow best practices to build highly scalable and resilient systems.
  5. Maintain high standards in user interface development.
  6. Collaborate with stakeholders and designers.
  7. Maintain and improve existing services.
  8. Participate in Scrum activities such as Daily Standups, Planning, Grooming, and Retrospectives.
  9. Contribute to work estimation and planning.
  10. Support team members and seek assistance when needed.
  11. Participate in on-call support to ensure operational excellence.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Python, C#).
  • Experience in system design, including architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Industry experience as a Software Engineer or Developer.
  • Experience with scalable, reliable, high-performance web services, including serverless patterns.
  • Experience with cloud solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining web APIs.
  • Strong communication skills with users, development teams, and management.
