Software Development Engineer, Prime Tech Hub

Amazon is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer to join our Prime Tech Hub team, where you'll help shape the future of Prime value for customers.

As Amazon Prime continues to transform customers journey, we're seeking engineers who can build innovative technology solutions that power Prime's expansion across EU markets. This role combines technical excellence with cross-cultural awareness, as you'll be implementing solutions for diverse markets while maintaining Amazon's global standards of customer obsession.
Key responsibilities:

* Work alongside product managers, ML data scientists, designers, and fellow engineers to create seamless Prime experiences
* Drive technical decisions that consider EU regulations and regional customer preferences
* Design and develop scalable systems that support Prime's growing member base
* Partner with business teams to understand market-specific requirements and implement tailored solutions

Success in this role will be defined by the ability to navigate complex technical challenges while understanding the growing customer needs across EU market. This is a fast-paced environment where you'll need to demonstrate strong coding skills, system design expertise, and the ability to adapt quickly to evolving business needs.


Key job responsibilities
- Architect, design and build large-scale digital marketing optimisation systems that power Amazon websites.
- Own the delivery of end-to-end, full stack solutions.
- Make sound engineering decisions and improve our software development practices.
- Build analytics platforms to process large volumes of traffic data, trends in marketing signals, and other key metrics.
- Build experimentation frameworks to drive continuous testing new marketing experiences.
- Contribute to the team’s technical vision and roadmap.

A day in the life
A SDE2 in this role is in charge of end-to-end project ownership and developing full-stack solutions ranging from building scalable softwares to process large volumes of data, building big-data platforms to process customer level data and to capture marketing signals for analytics and measurement. They work with cross-functional teams containing Data/ML scientists, UI/UX designers, product/marketing managers to build new customer experiences.

They contribute to the team’s technical vision and roadmap by actively contributing to design and code reviews. The role is expected to implement best practices for code quality, testing and deployment using AWS services.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
