Job summary

Filtronic designs and manufactures advanced RF, microwave and mmWave technologies for mission-critical communications and connectivity applications. The Software Development Engineer will join the Sedgefield team to develop and maintain Filtronic’s in-house Manufacturing and Reporting System, plus new applications and integrations.

The role involves collaborating with manufacturing, engineering and quality teams, delivering dashboards, databases and APIs, and working across our UK, USA and China

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with C#, ASP.NET and SQL Server.
• Knowledge of CSS and JavaScript.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Organise workload and manage competing priorities.
• Willingness to take responsibility and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain existing in-house software and manufacturing systems.
• Design and develop new applications, reporting tools, dashboards, databases and API integrations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering and quality to gather requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve software and technical issues.
• Develop automated reporting tools to support operations.
• participate in the full software development lifecycle from design to support.
• Contribute to code reviews and share knowledge within the team.
• Prepare technical documentation and user instructions.
• Organise workload to meet project deadlines.
• Keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks and issues.
