We are in the process of building and rolling out our next generation, dynamic, scalable, and resilient Fulfilment platform for Tesco, to address both manual, and robotic powered automated fulfilment operations, across all the customer order fulfilment locations. This highly optimized and continuously improving fulfilment platform is designed to be used to fulfil all product categories - Grocery /GM and Fashion, of Customer Orders. This platform, Fulfilment Point System (FPS), enables all the customer order fulfilment centres across different geographies to pick, marshal and dispatch customer orders on one hand and manage the site workflow through a real-time visualisation and intervention tool, on the other hand. Ours is a globally distributed, full stack java tech team and our building blocks consist of a set of Microservice components, backend APIs, Rich UI, robust Eventing Platform and Data layer components utilising a wide range of modern technologies including: You will be responsible for We're looking for a Full Stack Developer (SDE2) with a strong focus on UI development and complementary backend skills. This is a mid-level individual contributor role where you'll work on meaningful features, support others, and develop your technical leadership skills. As a key member of our engineering team, you will develop robust, scalable and efficient UI applications to optimise warehouse operations and drive operational success.

Responsibilities
  • UI Development: Build rich, responsive user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React).
  • Feature Delivery: Implement and ship end-to-end stories, primarily focused on frontend with some backend integration.
  • Technical Contribution: Take ownership of medium-sized features and participate in their design and delivery.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand problems and propose solutions.
  • Code Quality: Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to peer reviews to raise the team's quality bar.
  • Support & Mentorship: Help onboard junior engineers and share knowledge across the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply best practices and contribute to improving development processes and standards.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
  • Previous experience of having done product development using agile methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience of building and supporting reliable and operationally robust full stack and distributed Java applications / products.
  • Any previous experience of having contributed in a globally distributed software engineering teams would be a big plus.

  • Demonstrated impact across a software engineering team.
  • Experience designing and developing UI components and integrating with backend services.
  • Exposure to agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
