Job Description:

The Experience Platform org in Expedia Group enables developers across Expedia Group to build and maintain their applications, user experiences, and business domains, with reduced friction and increased use of cross-EG solutions and communities of practice.

This position is for a Fullstack Engineer focusing on building a UI application framework that serves user experiences to our customers. You will work on opportunities across the Experience Platform org and with our partners across Expedia Group.

As a team member, you'll estimate engineering efforts, design changes, implement, test, deploy, and troubleshoot production issues. Collaboration and curiosity are essential as we develop new experiences and improve existing frameworks powering the world's largest travel mobile apps at an unparalleled scale.

What you will do:
  • Build and evolve the next-generation Expedia Group shared component library framework to be adopted by different EG brands and our server-driven UI experience layer.
  • Collaborate with multiple engineering teams to enable co-development, re-use, and problem-solving.
  • Develop and test standard software applications in React, GraphQL, and related technologies.
  • Participate in code reviews to assess overall code quality and flexibility.
  • Apply software design principles, data structures, design patterns, and computer science fundamentals to write clean, maintainable, optimized, and modular code with good naming conventions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and delivery within an agile development environment.
  • Write automation, unit, and acceptance tests to support continuous integration pipelines.
  • Collaborate with team members to co-develop and resolve issues.
  • Engage in product feature development, working closely with teams across our offices worldwide.
Who you are:
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Professional full-stack web development experience.
  • Proficient with React, TypeScript, Node.js, and Apollo GraphQL.
  • Passionate about building and refining high-performance web applications.
  • Familiar with associated technologies within the SDLC ecosystem, such as CI/CD, Git, GitHub Actions.
  • Eager to learn and adopt new technologies and frameworks, from brainstorming and design to implementation and launch.
  • Experience in testing and monitoring your own code.
  • Experience working on large codebases.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely, presenting complex information appropriately for the audience.
