Software Development Engineer II, Amazon FinAuto - Amazon Commute Solutions, GREF Tech

The Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) Tech team, part of Finance Automation, develops services, products, and tools to enable Amazon's corporate real estate team to build and operate the company's global facilities in more than 60 countries. We develop building systems that deliver a seamless, adaptive, and creative workspace experience to over half a million employees. Our mission is to create technology that simplifies processes for managing Amazon's corporate real estate. Our tech team builds services and products supporting GREF domains such as space and occupancy planning, commute, design and construction, employee health and safety, sustainability, and building management systems with IoT expertise. We are seeking a passionate software development engineer to help create the next generation of commute solutions, providing Amazon employees worldwide with sustainable, cost-effective, and personalized commuting options.

As a software development engineer, you will collaborate with product managers and software engineers across the Finance Automation organization. This role offers autonomy and ownership, working directly from customer needs. There are ample growth opportunities due to high-visibility projects and mentorship from senior engineering talent.

Key job responsibilities

1. Define scalable software architectures, own and implement components, and shape the user experience.
2. Contribute to defining best practices for software development.
3. Collaborate with Product Managers and other Software Development Engineers to deliver products.
4. Participate in planning, design, implementation, testing, operations, and process improvements.
5. Take responsibility for technical problem-solving, meeting product goals, and developing best practices.
6. Design and develop a variety of software applications.
7. Mentor and support the growth of other developers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience programming with at least one software language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
