Software Development Engineer, Alexa AI Developer Tech

We build and scale Alexa's core infrastructure that powers millions of customer interactions with sub-ms latency. Our team owns mission-critical services including developer artifacts storage, experience lifecycle management, and account linking orchestration. We work on distributed systems that impact every Alexa experience and developer worldwide, solving complex engineering challenges at Amazon's scale.

Key job responsibilities

1. Responsible for the development and maintenance of key system features that support LLM-based experiences.
2. Collaborate with team members to align on design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility.
3. Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software against tight schedules.
4. Establish architectural principles, select design patterns, and mentor team members on their application.
5. Deep dive into end-to-end system architecture and drive long-term alignment with partner teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
• 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience programming with at least one programming language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
