Job Description:

As a Software Developer, you’ll work with other Developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and business users to develop software solutions based on business needs across Simplyhealth. You’ll advocate for agile development frameworks, have a drive to learn new technologies, and prioritize solution quality.

Key responsibilities
  1. Attend and contribute to daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint demos, and retrospectives.
  2. Provide accurate estimates for user stories and backlog items.
  3. Translate user stories and backlog items into logical units of work.
  4. Evaluate technical feasibility.
  5. Translate requirements and acceptance criteria into technical solutions.
  6. Produce well-structured, efficient, and reliable code within the agreed timescales, using selected technologies.
  7. Ensure code is well tested using TDD where appropriate.
  8. Provide prompt fixes to defects, ensuring fixes are well tested before release.
  9. Manage code using the preferred code management tools, ensuring timely check-in/out and awareness of impacts on team members.
  10. Contribute to the overall quality of code through reviews.
  11. Maintain interest in the latest development tools and technologies, and be prepared to use them in a fast-paced environment.
  12. Apply development best practices and adhere to IT policies and standards.
  13. Participate in the Development community, sharing skills and knowledge, and bringing in best practices.
  14. Communicate complex ideas simply and effectively to foster understanding.
