We encourage flexible and hybrid working but although this role can be based anywhere, some office attendance is required depending on business need. This role is based in our Cardiff office.
We’re responsible for Land Transaction Tax and Landfill Disposals Tax. Our work raises revenue to support public services, like the NHS and schools, in communities across Wales. But that’s not all, we're also involved with and support future tax design for Wales.

The Software Developer will sit within the WRA’s Digital & Technology function, working as part of the developer team. The Digital & Technology team are responsible for the delivery of all IT-related services within the WRA by providing infrastructure, applications and services.
You will use agreed specifications to design, code and test programs, using the right standards and tools. This includes building interfaces between systems, or working on more complex user focussed applications as part of the wider team.
You will use modern standards and provide some coaching and mentoring to junior colleagues.
The solutions and services you design will have security mitigation controls embedded as a core part of the solution.
