Job summary

TSA Riley Infrastructure is recruiting a Software Developer in Manchester to join our Digital Technology team. You will contribute to internal software projects from concept through delivery and support ongoing maintenance, while collaborating with colleagues to translate client requirements into efficient software solutions.

The role emphasizes designing, developing, and maintaining software, documenting specifications, and guiding junior team members.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in C# and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML/CSS and React.
  • Understanding of software architecture and design principles.
  • Experience with MS SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with Git and Atlassian tools; Agile/Scrum knowledge.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to internal software development projects from concept to delivery.
  • Support external software development and ongoing maintenance.
  • Produce project proposals and supporting documentation.
  • Estimate client requirements, scope, and timelines.
  • Develop storyboards to support planning and visualization.
  • Create project plans and monitor milestones.
  • Design, develop and maintain software to support delivery.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications and fix bugs.
  • Research new technologies and development approaches.
  • Manage source control across projects and ensure version control.
  • Document software design specifications clearly.
  • Collaborate with the wider project team to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Produce digital animations and visual content per client needs.
  • Guide and support junior team members’ development.
  • Contribute to software architecture and infrastructure design.
  • Participate in backlog refinement and sprint planning.
  • Liaise with clients to translate requirements into solutions.
  • Provide progress updates and feedback to clients and stakeholders.

Due to continued growth of our business, we are currently recruiting an experienced Software Developer to join our Digital Technology team based in Manchester.

About the Role:
  • Contribute to internal software development projects from concept through to delivery
  • Support external software development and ongoing maintenance activities
  • Contribute to the production of project proposals and supporting documentation
  • Analyse and estimate client requirements, project scope and delivery timeframes
  • Develop storyboards to support the planning and visualisation of client projects
  • Create project plans and monitor progress against agreed milestones
  • Design, develop and maintain software to support project delivery
  • Maintain and enhance existing software applications
  • Identify, track, troubleshoot and resolve software bugs
  • Research and evaluate new methodologies, technologies and development approaches
  • Manage source control across all projects, ensuring effective version management
  • Produce clear technical documentation and software design specifications
  • Work collaboratively with the wider project team to deliver high-quality solutions
