Job description

About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled software developer to manage a team of engineers to deliver high-quality software features for JCB LiveLink.

The LiveLink team is the driving force behind the uptime of a vast fleet of 500,000 globally connected machines. Our core product JCB LiveLink is a cloud-based platform used by customers to monitor machine telematics informing safety, sustainability and efficiency across both JCB machines, mixed fleet assets, construction projects and agricultural sites.

What does this role involve day to day?

  1. Managing a team of software engineers (across UK and other territories) to deliver high-quality customer features
  2. Acting as the dev manager for mobile applications and operations
  3. Collaborating with internal and external teams to ensure that JCB LiveLink meets the needs of customers
  4. Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, cloud-based applications using C#, .NET Core, and AWS
  5. Being accountable for ingestion of IoT data and managing data lakes/big data
  6. Building and maintaining well-structured RESTful APIs to integrate with various systems
  7. Working with SQL and NoSQL databases to store and retrieve data efficiently
  8. Implementing event-driven architectures using messaging systems like RabbitMQ and AWS Kinesis and SQS
  9. Development of modern web interfaces using TypeScript and Angular
  10. Contributing to code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices

This will be suited to you if:

  • You have experience managing a team of developers
  • You possess strong C# skills, demonstrated proficiency in C# programming, with a focus on building scalable applications using .NET Core
  • You have expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining well-structured RESTful APIs to facilitate data exchange between systems
  • You possess a solid understanding of SQL databases and experience working with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB
  • You have the ability to architect and implement scalable cloud solutions using AWS, adhering to best practices for event-driven systems
  • You have experience in TypeScript and Angular for building modern, responsive web interfaces
  • You have experience working with message queues and streams, such as RabbitMQ and AWS Kinesis and SQS, to handle asynchronous communication
