Software Developer Engineer

A well-established and award-winning technology company has an immediate requirement for an experienced Software Engineer / Developer to join their R&D department.

Location: Home-based with a monthly trip to Lymington, Southampton SO41 9AU

Salary: Circa £45,000 – £65,000 with excellent benefits

This role offers the opportunity to develop cutting-edge software, contributing throughout the project lifecycle, and working on multiple platforms including ARM, PowerPC, and x86, for embedded solutions and applications.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop peer-reviewed code within a team to high standards.
2. Create new project code primarily in C, with some HTML, Lua, JavaScript.
3. Maintain existing product portfolio.
4. Plan work during sprint periods.
5. Perform other related activities as required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Excellent English and strong communication skills.
• Relevant degree (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, Networking) with 2:1 or higher.
• Experience in programming with C, C++, C#, or Java.

Beneficial Skills:

• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• UI development experience.
• Knowledge of additional languages such as JavaScript, HTML, Lua, scripting languages.
• Experience with version control systems like Git, Gerrit, SVN, CVS.
