Job summary

You will design, develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and/or C++, contribute to software architecture and technical decision-making, and mentor junior developers while collaborating with stakeholders on requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' commercial software development experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience.
• Strong experience with Java and/or C++.
• Experience developing software within Linux environments.
• Good understanding of software architecture and object-oriented design principles.
• Experience developing backend applications, services or APIs.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience using Git and modern development workflows.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Containerisation technologies such as Docker.
• CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Cloud platforms and modern software architectures.
