Job summary

LA International is seeking a Software Developer to design and build scalable, highly available solutions for enterprise storage in a global financial services environment. You will develop in-house applications for storage provisioning, monitoring, alerting, auditing and inventory management, working across Linux environments and integrating with third-party technologies alongside global teams.

Strong Python and/or Perl skills and solid CS fundamentals are essential, with experience in RHEL,

Qualifications

• Strong Python and/or Perl development experience.
• Proven SDLC experience within large projects.
• Strong Computer Science fundamentals.
• OO and SQL knowledge is advantageous.
• Enterprise Linux experience (RHEL) is desirable.
• Storage technologies knowledge (Fibre Channel, iSCSI, SCSI, NFS, CIFS, Object Storage, RAID).
• Understanding of storage virtualization, provisioning, performance and capacity management.
• Kubernetes/OpenShift/Docker experience would be beneficial.
• Cloud experience with AWS/Azure/GCP advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting across OS, network and storage.
• Experience with storage products (NetApp, IBM Spectrum Scale, EMC, etc.) would be beneficial.
• Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills.

Software Developer Overview

• The Software Developer will design and develop highly available, scalable solutions supporting enterprise storage platforms within a global financial services environment.
• Develop in-house applications covering storage provisioning, monitoring, alerting, auditing, inventory and preventative maintenance.
• Work across software development, infrastructure automation, storage technologies and Linux environments while integrating solutions with third-party technologies.
• Collaborate with global technical teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.

Software Developer Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable applications using Python and/or Perl.
• Develop tools for storage provisioning, monitoring, alerting, auditing and inventory management.

Software Developer Skills and Experience

• Strong software development experience using Python and/or Perl.
• Proven experience applying SDLC best practices within large software development projects.
• Strong Computer Science fundamentals.
• Object-Oriented programming and SQL knowledge would be advantageous.
• Enterprise Linux experience, particularly RHEL, would be highly desirable.
• Knowledge of enterprise storage technologies including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, SCSI, NFS, CIFS, Object Storage, RAID and distributed storage would be advantageous.
• Understanding of storage virtualisation, provisioning, performance and capacity management.
• Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker or containerisation experience would be beneficial.
• AWS, Azure or Google Cloud experience would be advantageous.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across operating systems, networking and storage.
• Experience with NetApp, IBM Spectrum Scale, HDS, EMC, Brocade SAN or Veritas technologies would be beneficial.
• Strong communication, organisation and prioritisation skills.
