Software Dev Engineer II, Under The Roof Technology

Would you like to be part of a team that is solving challenging problems for Amazon’s Physical Stores? Are you passionate about delivering new experiences that delight our customers and building highly available and low latency systems that can scale up to an ever-expanding customer base? We are hiring a strong SDE2 to contribute to the Physical Stores.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Work collaboratively, shaping the vision and strategy for solving business problems.
  2. Develop an architecture, thinking long-term about futuristic needs.
  3. Mentor, grow, and share the journey to deliver with quality.
  4. Deep dive, develop, and deliver systems that are highly maintainable. Serve as a technical leader for the team with the ability to deliver against all odds.
  5. Use a data-driven approach for making right architecture decisions and managing business priorities.
A day in the life

As a software development engineer on this team, you will play a pivotal role in:

  1. Working with the team and stakeholders to help drive business decisions.
  2. Designing, implementing, testing, deploying, and maintaining innovative software solutions to drive service optimization, cost, and security.
  3. Applying software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all team deliverables.
  4. Writing high-quality software.
  5. Working in an agile, startup-like development environment, focusing on the most important tasks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
  • 2+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
  • Experience programming in at least one software language.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
