Software Dev Engineer II, Amazon Payment Product

Looking for a Software Development Engineer to be part of a dynamic environment within Amazon, focusing on building innovative global payments products and solutions.

Amazon Payments team at Amazon India Development Center, Bangalore, is seeking developers to design and build next-generation global payments solutions that transform customer payment experiences. The team manages all Amazon-branded payment offerings globally, including Amazon Co-Branded Credit Cards, Amazon and Branded Gift Cards, Shop with Points, among others. These products are rapidly expanding with new features and market launches.

This role offers an opportunity to develop a strong patent portfolio for Amazon and involves designing extensible, multi-faceted solutions supporting global and regional payment protocols and workflows. It is a high-visibility program with significant business impact.

Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of computer fundamentals and experience in building full-stack, large-scale distributed systems, especially web applications and services at scale.

Key job responsibilities

1. Define, design, and implement multi-tier distributed software applications.
2. Estimate effort, plan, and implement system changes ensuring performance, scalability, reliability, and functionality.
3. Design, code, test major features, and collaborate with team members to deliver complex projects.
4. Work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams across the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years in system design or architecture, focusing on reliability and scalability.
• Experience programming in at least one software language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
