Job description

SNAP is a unique and innovative company that has become the leading digital marketplace for the haulage industry across Europe.

SNAP connects the entire road transport industry through technology, security and a complete international network of truck drivers, fleets, and roadside service providers.

We have tens of thousands of fleets with hundreds of thousands of drivers who use SNAP Account every 13 seconds when driving across Europe. We connect them with over 600+ service providers of truck parking, vehicle washing and road tolls to simplify fleet management and drive revenues for our service partners.

We plan to invest heavily and develop our technology to continue to grow our network across Europe - making it an exciting and rewarding time to be part of our continuous success story.

Role Overview

The Software Delivery Manager will look at the commercial aspirations of the business and work with Project Managers, Product leads, and Senior Developers to create deliveries of value-adding software based on the principles of agile delivery and the theory of constraints.

This is a key role for the business as it will influence the roadmaps of the four key SNAP products and ensure that value is being delivered against each. It is vital that delivery plans take into consideration the completion of the removal of legacy software as well as the constant need to assess, re-enforce and be pro-active in the space of cyber security.

The Software Delivery Manager will ensure the throughput of the software squads working with the teams to improve the software delivery process and practice. It is important that this is done in a collaborative way. Each software product squad must be given autonomy to function as a self-managing delivery team within the boundaries of overall KPI metrics to be introduced by the Software Delivery Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Communicate delivery plans in line with agreed value to the wider business, particularly the Senior Leadership Team and Commercial Team.
  2. Ensure delivery plans are clear, visible, and reported sprint by sprint.
  3. Engagement with commercial partners, service partners (sites), and fleets in the creation of plans.
  4. Ensure developers are clear in their priorities at a macro level to meet commercial needs.
  5. Follow and deliver the technical strategy through an associated roadmap.
  6. Manage a team of Software Developers to ensure engagement and personal development.
  7. Rotate Developers through product squads to share knowledge throughout the team.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Has quantifiable experience in an appropriate role, with experience in the logistics industry being advantageous.
  2. Strong communicator, comfortable in presenting complex ideas and concepts to a variety of audiences.
  3. Ability to make complex ideas and concepts relatable to stakeholders.
  4. Understanding of the theory of constraints would be an advantage but not essential; willingness to learn is essential.
  5. Full, clean driving license in the designated country with willingness to undertake extensive travel.
  6. Valid passport allowing travel across Europe and to the UK when required.
  7. A degree in business or information technology related discipline is advantageous but not critical.
  8. Understanding and consistent application of Lean principles.
  9. Ability to lead workshops comprising all types of stakeholders and adjust material to the audience accordingly.
  10. Empathetic and team-focused, prioritizing the welfare of others ahead of personal ambition.
  11. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM, SharePoint, and other relevant electronic digital portals.
  12. Advanced communication (written and oral) techniques used across various forums.
