Job summary

FTSE Russell, part of LSEG, powers benchmarks and index solutions used by investors worldwide. We are seeking a hands‑on engineer to modernise and scale the FTSE platform with AWS cloud and AI‑assisted tooling to accelerate delivery while keeping control.

You will work on challenging problems across software engineering, focusing on performance, data quality and reliability for global clients.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java, Python, C++, or C# in production systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS or Azure.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automation, testing, and modern engineering practices.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

We’re looking for a hands‑on engineer to help modernise and scale the FTSE platform – a cloud‑native, low‑latency system that operates at global scale and underpins critical investment products used worldwide. You will work on challenging problems across software engineering where performance, data quality, and reliability are non‑negotiable, leveraging modern cloud (AWS) and AI‑assisted development tooling to accelerate delivery without compromising control. Practical use of AI‑assisted development tooling to improve engineering productivity is required.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Experience developing software using Java, Python, C++, C#, or similar technologies
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automation, testing, and modern engineering practices
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Interest in AI and emerging technologies
• Ability to collaborate effectively across global teams
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience
