Job Title: Automation & Electrical Engineer

As the Automation & Electrical Engineer, you will maintain the Automation and Electrical equipment / Infrastructure on site, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems and equipment. You will act as a technical resource for the site, responsible for robotic, automation, and control systems design, specification, programming, simulation, testing, and plant start-up assistance in all aspects of plant operations.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide both reactive and proactive, multi-skilled service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure.
  • Increase site operational effectiveness, reduce downtime, manage and implement improvement plans, and drive KPIs while ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Manage the team on technical best practices, establish standard policies and procedures, and mentor staff.
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement initiatives and modern manufacturing principles by identifying deficiencies and recommending changes in training, practices, and processes.
  • Serve as the site expert for a designated set of automation systems, including representing integrated needs in cross-functional and cross-site teams. This may include software development of related enhancements or support tools.
  • Be the site expert for HMI and SCADA systems, managing machine and process data for storage, configuration, and information sharing.
  • Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance programs to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Requirements for the Role
  • Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Mechatronic Engineering, or proven equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in PLC programming with systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Hitachi, or ABB.
  • Knowledge and experience in PLC programming, specifically with Allen Bradley PLCs using RS Logix 5000 and other series. Familiarity with MOB Bus, ASI, PROFI Bus, CAN Bus, and internet communication.
  • Experience with HMI and SCADA systems, including programming, preferably with Wonderware.
  • Specific experience with GE Fanuc robotics systems and programming is advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of working experience in manufacturing plants with a focus on automation, electrical, mechanical, electronic, and robotic systems.
