Job Title: Software Controls Engineer (Contract)

Duration: 3-6 months contract (likely longer), Outside IR35

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading capital machinery manufacturer based in the Northwest, near the Lancashire M65 corridor. The company specializes in the design, manufacture, and installation of special purpose machinery and conveyors for the fast-paced FMCG and food processing industries.

Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Software Controls Engineer to join their team on an interim basis. The initial contract duration is 3 months.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and rewrite code for automation on HMIs
• Utilize VIA / Mitsubishi, Siemens, and Allen Bradley software
• Develop new features through coding
• Conduct low-level interface development from scratch
• Use existing libraries and standard platforms
• Work on industrial SPM and conveyor systems in FMCG/Food manufacturing
• Install new HMI modules on-site and ensure they are fit for purpose

Requirements:

• Experience with multiple software development and unified HMI systems
• Familiarity with fast-paced food manufacturing and processing industries
• HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical, Software, or Systems Engineering or similar
