Job summary

Client Server is recruiting a Software Consultant / Engineer (Android Linux C++) in Cambridge with work-from-home flexibility to £60k. You will guide customers through technical integration and bespoke developments of our core software products for automotive and high-performance applications.

You'll collaborate with clients to capture requirements, relay them to the engineering team, and help design solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience with C/C++ for cross-platform development, including embedded Linux.
• Solid understanding of embedded Linux and Android build systems.
• Experience with networking programming, protocols, security, and multithreaded programming.
• Experience with application and embedded development, IoT and set-top boxes.
• Commercial awareness and business acumen.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for client demos.

Software Consultant / Engineer (Android Linux C++) Cambridge / WFH to £60k

Are you a technologist who enjoys client interaction and seeing the results of your work in real-world settings?

You could be progressing your career at a successful and scaling software house to help create the latest generation of cutting edge products aimed at the automotive sector and high performance cars; the product is currently embedded into 35 million cars and that number is rising.

As a Software Consultant you will support customers with the technical integration and bespoke application developments of the core software products. You'll partner with clients to understand their needs and present solutions, articulating requirements to the engineering team, agreeing on detailed specifications and coordinating the delivery to customers.

You'll be collaborating and problem solving within an R&D environment using cutting edge technology e.g. the latest versions of Android and iOS (prior to public release) and the newest silicon and devices not yet available on the market; you will be empowered to develop new ideas and prototypes that have the potential to become new product lines and will collaborate closely with the sales team.

Location / WFH:

You'll join colleagues based near Cambridge North station for 2-3 days a week with flexibility to work from home; you'll can also travel to trade shows and exhibitions where you'll demonstrate the product and drive customer engagement (all expenses paid).

About you:

• You have experience developing software using C / C++ for cross platform use (will also consider Java)
• You have a good understanding of embedded Linux and Android build systems
• You're familiar with networking programming, protocol design, compression, security and multithreaded programming
• You have experience with both application and embedded development, familiar with things like IoT, set-top boxes
• You have a commercial awareness and business acumen
• You have excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable demonstrating products to senior stakeholders and working with clients on bespoke development projects
