Software Commissioning Engineer - Permanent - Main Contractor - Severn Trent Water Framework - Electrical

Your new company
You will be joining a main contractor based in Nottingham operating in the water industry. This multi-accredited and established contractor is appointed on multiple major water frameworks across the UK and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. They have a strong pipeline of work with Severn Trent, with an order book currently totalling over £38m, and therefore they are looking to onboard a Software Commissioning Engineer to join their business.
This is a full-time permanent position involving office/home and site-based working (across the Severn Trent region only).

Your new role
As Software Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  1. Carrying out internal and client software testing (PLC, HMI & SCADA)
  2. Commissioning software and equipment in accordance with test documentation
  3. Keeping project documentation updated and current
  4. Performing MCC testing and configuration (intelligent components)
  5. Having commercial awareness of the project scope and scope of supply
  6. Carrying out final documentation changes and software handovers on completion of projects.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you must have:

  1. Knowledge of process control in water and wastewater treatment works
  2. Experience with PLC, HMI and/or SCADA
  3. Ability to read electrical diagrams and preferably hold an electrical qualification
  4. Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  5. Full UK driving licence.
