Job summary

Magentus is recruiting a Build Engineer to support and implement high-quality applications across the business. You will assist in configuring software for clients within a Scrum team and help ensure smooth specification gathering and testing processes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in IT or related field and an understanding of software development and healthcare interoperability standards. Hybrid work is available with a Manchester base.

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Applied Science, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of software development processes and functional design.
  • Understanding of healthcare integration and interoperability standards and best practice (HL7, APIs).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain templates and work instructions used for detailed specification gathering from Clients.
  • Support Implementation Specialist in gathering specifications from Clients and Internal teams.
  • Deliver configuration for Clients within a sprint as part of a squad.
  • Review specifications and provide actionable feedback within the timeframe.
  • Import specifications into a system and perform unit testing on outputs.
  • Create and maintain scripts that generate forms and reports, with unit testing.
  • Create and review configuration release documentation and provide feedback on issues.
  • Communicate updates on tasks to managers and stakeholders, including risks.
  • Other duties as required.

Internal Job Title: Build Engineer

Reporting to the Build Team Lead this position is responsible for supporting and implementing a high quality of critical applications across Magentus and will assist in the design, configuration, and refinement of the software for our clients.

Please note that, in line with UK immigration regulations, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role as we do not currently hold a sponsorship licence.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Maintain templates and work instructions used for detailed specification gathering from Clients.
  • Work with and support Implementation Specialist in populating and gathering of specifications from Clients and Internal teams.
  • Work closely within a squad to deliver configuration for Clients within a given sprint.
  • Review and provide meaningful and actionable feedback on specifications within the appropriate timeframe.
  • Import of specifications into a system and perform defined unit testing on outputs to ensure functionality.
  • Create scripts that generate forms and reports based on a given design and perform unit testing to ensure quality and functionality. Maintain and update these scripts throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  • Create and generate business rules from Client requirements and perform unit testing to ensure quality and functionality. Maintain and improve business rules through the life of a project.
  • Create and review Configuration release documentation, providing high level oversight on changes to configuration during a sprint, and include actionable and meaningful feedback on issues encountered.
  • Provide clear and appropriate updates on tasks to managers/stakeholders as required, including the identification and escalation of risks and issues encountered.
  • Other duties as required.
What experience do I need
Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Applied Science, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of software development processes and functional design.
  • Understanding of healthcare integration and interoperability standards and best practice (HL7, APIs, etc), is desired.

  • Up to £33,000 per annum

Hybrid Working
  • Based in our Manchester office (Spring Gardens, City Centre) 3 days per week and working from home 2 days per week.
  • This role may require travel to client sites. Any day spent travelling to a client site will count as an office day.
