Job summary

Prophet PLC, based in Coventry with offices in South Africa and the US, is seeking a Software Architect with a C/C++ background to join our expanding team. You will evaluate software solutions, work with the technical Director to improve performance, and document the system thoroughly.

Coaching and mentoring the team will follow training, with a focus on sharing expertise. You will require broad knowledge of software development processes, architectural styles, data modeling, and experience with

Qualifications

• Broad and extensive knowledge of the software development process and its technologies.
• Knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns.
• Understanding of various coding methods and computer languages (C/C++)
• Data modeling and database design experience
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and identify software solutions and work with the technical Director on improving poorly behaving software.
• Conduct research, gather information, interpret data and finalise solutions.
• Document all aspects of the system; create flowcharts and diagrams for reference and maintenance.
• Communicate effectively in writing and share skills with colleagues; mentor the team after training.
• Lead by example and contribute to the ongoing success of the company.

Job Description

We are looking for a Software Architect with a background in C /C++ to join our rapidly expanding team.

Based in Coventry and with offices in South Africa and the US, we can offer good career progression and the chance to work on large global projects.

List Of Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:

You will be expected to evaluate and identify software solutions and to work closely with the technical Director in determining and looking at poor-behaving software and finding ways to improve it. Also involved in research, gathering of information, interpretation of data, and finalising a solution.

Documentation is a very important part of this role. Every aspect of our system or application must be thoroughly recorded. These documents will serve as references for new employees and for future maintenance on the system. You must be able to communicate well through writing and be able to create flowcharts and diagrams.

Coaching and mentoring the team will be expected after training and induction. The right person will be expected to share skills and expertise with colleagues as well as set a positive example for them.
