Job summary

Debenhams Group is seeking an experienced Softs designer to join the in-house design team. You will interpret trends, source fabrics, and develop collections for your department, delivering detailed, commercially viable ranges.

You will lead fit sessions, guide the design process, and work closely with buying and senior teams to shape seasonal lines, while planning for travel and supplier engagements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated background in womenswear softs/woven design.
• Hand drawing, Photoshop and Illustrator experience are required.
• In-depth knowledge of textiles, garment construction, and fit.

Responsibilities

• Develop the collection and trends each season for your department.
• Source and develop fabrics for each month to suit your product range.
• Forecast trends to bring newness and fashionability into the ranges with original designs.
• Lead fit sessions and oversee the seal process with tech specs.
• Collaborate with Head of Design to plan seasonal macro trends.
