Sociology Teacher - Full-Time, Permanent Role

Quantum Scholars are currently working with a well-regarded secondary school in Southampton in their search for a qualified and enthusiastic Sociology Teacher to join their team from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to make a real difference in a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking school environment.

The school is a mixed comprehensive secondary school, rated 'Good' by Ofsted, with a strong focus on student progress, staff development, and high-quality teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Sociology lessons to students across KS3 and KS4
  • Plan, prepare and assess student work in line with the national curriculum
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported
  • Develop students' critical thinking, debate, and analytical skills
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum planning and departmental success
  • Participate in school life, including pastoral support and extra-curricular activities
Requirements
  • A degree in Sociology or a related subject
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification
  • A strong passion for Sociology and a desire to inspire and engage learners

  • Prior experience teaching Sociology across KS3 and KS4 is essential
