Sociology Teacher / Sociology ECT (Social Sciences)

In the heart of Lewisham, an 'Outstanding' Secondary School is seeking a Sociology Teacher / Sociology ECT (Social Sciences) for a September 2025 start. This is a permanent, full-time position.

The Head Teacher is looking for an ambitious Sociology Teacher / Sociology ECT (Social Sciences) eager to contribute to an expanding Sociology Department. The school is known for its supportive SLT and impressive Progress 8 results across all subjects.

The school invests heavily in education, implementing new teaching practices and training both new and existing staff. It's an exciting time at the school!

Experienced Sociology Teachers may take on roles such as KS4 Coordinator, Pastoral Responsibilities, and more. Newly Qualified Sociology Teachers (ECT) will participate in the school's bespoke ECT induction program and work alongside a team of both young and experienced Sociology Teachers.

Person Specification

• Must have UK QTS or be in the process of obtaining it
• Strong academic background: Degree, A Levels, GCSEs
• Meeting the 8 Teaching Standards at a 'Good' or 'Outstanding' level
• Ability to work effectively within a team of Sociology Teachers
