About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons across Key Stages 4-5, following exam specifications and incorporating current social issues and debates.
  • Plan and deliver lessons that foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and social awareness, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources, including sociological theories, research methods, and case studies.
  • Assess student progress through essays, presentations, and research projects, providing detailed feedback to support their development.
  • Contribute to the development of the Sociology curriculum, integrating current sociological trends and social justice issues, and participate in departmental planning.
  • Organize and lead sociological debates, research projects, and community engagement activities, promoting student engagement and social responsibility.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong Sociology subject knowledge, including sociological theories, research methods, and social justice issues.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Sociology to A-Level, with a focus on both theoretical concepts and research skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
