What We're Looking For:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of Sociology and a commitment to providing high-quality education. The ideal candidate will be:

  • A qualified teacher (holding QTS or equivalent).
  • Experienced in teaching Sociology at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Sociology).
  • Passionate about Sociology and able to inspire students of all abilities.
  • An excellent classroom practitioner with strong behaviour management skills.
  • Committed to raising student achievement and fostering critical thinking, research skills, and an understanding of social issues.
  • A collaborative team player who is willing to contribute to the wider school community.
  • Dedicated to their own professional development.
  • An outstanding Sociology Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging Sociology lessons across the relevant Key Stages.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attainment and progress.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes critical discussion, research, and analysis within Sociology.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the department and across the school.
  • Contribute to the development of the Sociology curriculum.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
