We are seeking an outstanding Sociology Teacher to join our dedicated team. As a Sociology Teacher at our school, you will have the opportunity to teach Sociology across Key Stages 4 and 5, inspiring students of all abilities and nurturing their sociological imagination.

What you'll do as a Sociology Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Sociology lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and sociological interests.
  • Create a dynamic and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to explore sociological concepts and develop their understanding of society.
  • Teach a variety of sociological theories and perspectives, fostering students' critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Lead and facilitate classroom discussions and debates on contemporary social issues.
  • Assess and monitor student progress in Sociology, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Contribute to the development of the Sociology curriculum and departmental resources.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure the highest standards of Sociology teaching.

What you'll need to be a successful Sociology Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Sociology or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Sociology at the secondary level.
  • A strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Sociology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
