Your New Role

You will be teaching Sociology and Criminology to KS4 and KS5 pupils. Sociology and Criminology are fascinating, thought-provoking disciplines that encourage students to explore the world around them through a critical and analytical lens. These subjects are highly valued and popular at A Level, offering students a challenging, stimulating and relevant curriculum that prepares them for higher education and beyond.

  • Have regard for the need to safeguard pupils' well-being following statutory provisions
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging high-quality lessons tailored to the curriculum and student needs
  • Assess, record and report on the progress of students, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports positive behaviour and mutual respect, following the school's behaviour policy
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers to support student progress and wellbeing
Vetting Checks
  • Right to Work in the UK (No Limitations)
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (Child/Child & Adult Workforce)
  • Reference checks covering the last 2 years of employment or education
Qualifications and Experience
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • 12 months experience as a fully qualified Teacher or had positive feedback during teaching placement(s)
  • Read the DfE 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' (2025 document)
  • Has strong Sociology and Criminology subject knowledge
