Sociology and Criminology Teacher (Full-Time)

GBP31,650 - GBP43,606 (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)

A well-regarded Secondary School in Liverpool, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Criminology and Sociology Teacher to join their committed Humanities and Social Sciences department. The successful candidate will be teaching KS4 and KS5 students, delivering engaging lessons that promote critical thinking, social awareness, and a deep understanding of societal structures.

The school has a strong reputation for academic excellence and a supportive pastoral system. Rated Good in its most recent Ofsted inspection, it has been praised for its inclusive ethos, strong community relationships, and cross-departmental collaboration that enhances student learning experiences.

Role Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons in Criminology and Sociology at GCSE and A-Level

  • Encourage analytical thinking, debate, and independent research

  • Assess and track student progress in line with curriculum and exam board standards

  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported

Requirements

To be considered for this Criminology and Sociology Teacher position, candidates must have:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification

  • Experience teaching Criminology and/or Sociology at KS4 and/or KS5

  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for social sciences

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing

  • An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)
