An established industry player is seeking dedicated Social Workers to join their Children's Services Practice Team. We are currently developing our service and have created new opportunities within our Children's Services Practice Team.
The practice team covers everything from pre-birth to aftercare up to the age of 26. We have responsibility for statutory and children protection work, permanence, and children and young people in conflict with the law.
We seek to adopt a rights-based and trauma-informed approach to working alongside children, young people, and their families, with the Promise central to everything that we do.
A degree in Social Work and registration with the SSSC as a Social Worker is essential. An equivalent qualification such as a Diploma in Social Work with SSSC registration is acceptable, together with a Mental Health Officer academic qualification.
The essential qualifications for a Social Worker within the Mental Health Team are a degree in Social Work and registration with the SSSC as a Social Worker. An acceptable alternative is a Diploma in Social Work with SSSC registration, combined with a Mental Health Officer academic qualification.

Working Pattern:
There are 52 weeks per year. Please note that it is Midlothian Council's policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on working 36 hours over 52 weeks, the minimum actual salary for this position is £41,802.34 per annum.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults and Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. It is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults and children.
Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Protected Adults and Children. You will need to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before starting employment with Midlothian Council. The cost will be covered by you.
