Social Worker

Rate: £33.10

Details: SSW/SP – UASC and 16+ Pathways Team
Rate – Up to £33.10

Cases for unaccompanied asylum seekers, placed predominantly in the West Midlands. Working with 16+ young people, living predominantly in the Shropshire area, but there can be distance driving.

Predominantly from home, but expected to come into the office on duty days and for team meetings, and other meetings that are arranged by People’s Directorate – One day in the office, 4 days working from home per week

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
  • Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups
  • Possess knowledge of service needs.
  • Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises

Responsibilities

  • Recording is essential and keeping within timescales, good assessment skills and analysis.
  • Conflict resolution, working with vulnerable and dysregulated teenagers, who have been through trauma and negative lived experience. CSE knowledge and skills
  • Return home interviews, building a positive and trusting relationship with the young person. Preparation for supervision, and ensuring supervision is prioritised. Reflection and feedback, seeking direction as and when required.
