Job summary

Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Social Worker to join its client’s Support and Protect Team in Workington, Cumberland. You will undertake statutory responsibilities, complete assessments, and work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children and achieve positive outcomes.

The role offers hybrid working with condensed weeks; part-time applicants will be considered and long-term contracts may be available in a beautiful Cumbria location.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of children and families within the Child Protection team.
• Undertake Child and Family Assessments, Child in Need, and Child Protection work in line with statutory requirements.
• Develop, implement, and review outcome-focused care and support plans to safeguard children and promote welfare.
• Build effective relationships with children and families, undertaking direct work to reduce risk and improve outcomes.
• Prepare high-quality assessments, reports, and court statements where required.
• Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, child protection conferences, core groups, and legal planning meetings.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to deliver coordinated, child-centred interventions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with statutory guidance, local policies, and professional standards.
• Assess and manage risk effectively, making informed decisions to ensure safety and wellbeing.

What will your responsibilities be?
