Opus People Solutions, on behalf of Northampton Children's Trust, has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker in their Separated Children's Team.

Job Title: Social Worker - Separated Children's Team

Length of assignment: 3 Months

Hours per week: 37

Hourly rate: £36

Location: One Angel Square, Northampton

Remote/Office based: Hybrid

As a Children's Social Worker at Northamptonshire Children's Trust, you'll join a supportive learning culture, be able to influence change, challenge others, and share your expertise. We focus on keeping children at the heart of all we do, building meaningful relationships with young people, their families, and carers to plan proactively for each child's future.

You will need to demonstrate experience with looked after children care, gained in roles such as working in a LAC, court team, safeguarding service, or other children's services areas.

This team works with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (under 18) and families with no recourse to public funds. The role is fast-paced, aiming to deliver positive outcomes for children and families in collaboration with the Leaving Care Service and external partners.

We have: 2 full-time positions (37 hrs) and 1 part-time position (18.5 hrs).

What will you be doing?

Supporting young people through pathway planning as they transition to independence, using creative approaches; fulfilling the personal advisor role, enabling young people to live independently.

Providing oversight for all children in care in Northamptonshire, including those subject to legal proceedings and long-term care plans. Building meaningful relationships with young people, families, and carers to ensure effective future planning.
