Social Worker & Senior Social Worker - Supporting Disabled Children's Service
Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Social Worker & Senior Social Worker within the Supporting Disabled Children's Service, based in Wandsworth.
The salary for this role is up to £57,127 per annum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the lead professional in statutory cases requiring a qualified social worker, including child protection, care proceedings, and looked after children cases.
- Undertake the full range of social work tasks with children in need and their families, including assessment, planning, implementation, and review (APIR).
- Coordinate the team around the child to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to APIR and safeguarding.
- Establish and develop collaborative working relationships with allied health and social care practitioners from children's and adults' services.
- Develop a strong understanding of evidence-based practice and incorporate models of best practice into daily service delivery.
- Participate actively in professional supervision and annual appraisal (PrP) reviews, taking responsibility for the quality of practice.
- Build professional credibility within the multi-professional partnership by achieving practice standards and meeting performance targets, including providing accredited practice teaching as needed.
- Understand and incorporate key council policies related to social care with children and families, emphasizing multi-disciplinary working, integration, and whole family approaches.
- Develop expertise in at least one key risk factor affecting children's welfare, such as parental substance misuse, mental health issues, domestic abuse, learning difficulties, or homelessness.
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of and collaborate with local preventative and targeted family support services, especially those offered by voluntary and community sectors.
- Suggest ideas for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of council services to children and families.
- Contribute to reviewing council policies and procedures, particularly social work guidance and protocols.

Minimum Requirements:
- A recognized social work qualification or equivalent.
- Understanding of relevant legislation.
- Registered or eligible for registration.
