Job Title: Social Worker – Child Protection
Location: Salford City Council
Rate: £39 per hour

Salford Council are looking for a social worker for their safeguarding and support service.

What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will respond to referrals from MASH and complete assessments within 45 days. You will identify needs and work with children and families to provide support and implement plans. Handling section 47 enquiries, CIN, assessments, and planning will be part of your responsibilities. You will collaborate with professionals to support children and their families. Additionally, you will manage cases involving children on child in need plans for short-term periods until they either step down or step up to ICPC, at which point cases will transfer to the longer-term assessment service. You will develop care plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children, and provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations to protect children from harm. Collaboration with law enforcement, legal professionals, healthcare providers, and community organizations will be essential to coordinate services and support for children and families. You will prepare reports and participate in court proceedings related to child protection cases. Regularly reviewing and updating care plans to reflect the changing needs of children and families will be crucial. Offering emotional support and advocacy for children and families, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes, will be a key part of your role. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions, assessments, and interventions is essential. Finally, you will participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with best practices in child protection.

Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful in this role, you must have Social Work England registration, be eligible to work in the UK, hold a full UK license, have post-qualified experience, and hold a degree level or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
