What you will do:

  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify risks and develop appropriate support plans.
  2. Manage a diverse caseload, ensuring timely interventions to safeguard children at risk.
  3. Collaborate with partner agencies, including health, education, and law enforcement, to ensure coordinated and effective support.
  4. Implement and review child protection plans in line with the Children's Act 1989 and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
  5. Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, core group meetings, and legal proceedings when required.
  6. Provide direct support and intervention to children and families, aiming to improve outcomes and reduce risks.
  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory requirements and local policies.
  8. Participate in professional supervision and training to enhance practice and improve service delivery.

Requirements:

  1. Qualification: Degree in Social Work (BA, BSc, or equivalent).
  2. Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
  3. Experience: Previous experience in a safeguarding team or child protection setting is essential.
  4. Skills: Strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills are required.
  5. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act, Care Act 2014, and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2018).
