Job summary

Blackpool Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker for their Child Protection team in Children’s Services in Blackpool. The role is locum with flexible office-based working and a focus on safeguarding and court involvement.

Key duties include completing safeguarding enquiries, producing reports for conferences, and long-term engagement with families to safeguard children. Strong registration and DBS are required, with OFSTED Outstanding status underpinning practice expectations.

Pay/Salary: up to £ 39 per hour
Office Working: 2-3 Days per week

We are currently working with Blackpool Council to find an experienced Social Worker for their Child Protection team in Children s Services. With a stable management team and a mostly permanent workforce, Blackpool are looking for someone with solid experience to be able to pick up a caseload and support their service. Blackpool has recently achieved an OUTSTANDING rating by OFSTED, making it one of two authorities in the North West to have this incredible rating. Inspectors have said Blackpool Council s services for children in care and services for care leavers are both outstanding, that the impact of leaders on social work practice is outstanding, and that services for children who need help and protection are good.

Duties

• Completing Section 47 s and section 17 enquiries
• Undertake Section 7and 37 reports, as well as attending Court, and providing analysis and evidence-based recommendations
• Long term engagement with families, including direct work, capturing the voice of the child
• Write conference reports and attend conferences, such as Core Group Meetings
