Blackpool Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join the children and young people in our care teams in Blackpool, Lancashire. You will support children and families, ensuring the child's voice informs every decision and contribute to permanence planning and reunification where possible.
You will also mentor Newly Qualified Social Workers and students, working closely with a Team Manager to develop staff through reflective practice and clear guidance within a supportive structure.
Contract Type: Permanent
Contract Hours: 37 per week
Salary: Grade H3 SCP 36-40 £47,181 - £51,356 per annum

We are seeking skilled, motivated and passionate Senior Social Worker, working with children and young people who are in our care. We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of children in our care, is passionate about improving outcomes and promoting stability and belonging for our children. You should have the ability to inspire, motivate and support social workers alongside a Team Manager. Your values should reflect the Blackpool Families Rock model of practice, keeping children at the heart of everything we do. In your role as Senior Social Worker you will be expected to support children and young people with a variety of different care plans and needs. Alongside this, you will provide support to colleagues including Social Worker’s in their ASYE and students.
The Supporting Our Children Service is a stable team with positive working relationships, a supportive management structure and accessible senior leadership. There is a strong emphasis on quality social work practice and making a real difference to our children’s lives.
