Job Title: Qualified Social Worker – MASH Team
Location: Surrey, Woking
Position Type: Full-Time, Temporary
Salary: £42ph

About Us:

Are you an experienced Social Worker looking to make a real impact in safeguarding vulnerable children? Surrey is seeking a dedicated and proactive Qualified Social Worker to join its Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Casework Management: Provide high-quality, relationship-based social work services to children and families at tier 4 level of Surrey Safeguarding Children Board’s Effective Family Resilience criteria.
  2. Safeguarding: Understand the forms of abuse and neglect that children can be exposed to. Differentiate clearly between significant impairment and significant harm. Use motivational interviewing skills to engage parents in changing behaviors that could cause impairment or harm, and coordinate with adult services for support.
  3. Assessment and Review: Conduct strengths-based assessments of immediate and wider family members. Develop SMART plans, review them regularly, and inform managers of escalations, risks, or improvements. Ensure children are placed in permanent families when needs cannot be met, including considering their wishes and feelings. Promote health, development, education, and contact needs for looked after children.
