Your Role and Responsibilities:

Review and assess incoming referrals to determine the appropriate safeguarding response.

Liaise with key partner agencies—such as police, health, education, and early help—to gather relevant contextual information.

Apply Lewisham’s safeguarding thresholds to guide appropriate interventions.

Exercise sound professional judgment to evaluate risk and ensure timely, effective decisions.

Escalate urgent child protection concerns swiftly and appropriately.

Ensure seamless handovers to assessment teams or Early Help where needed.

Maintain accurate, comprehensive case records in accordance with statutory guidelines.

Requirements:

A recognised qualification in Social Work (Degree or equivalent).

Registration with Social Work England.

Prior experience in children’s statutory services—ideally in a MASH, Front Door, or Child Protection setting.

Strong knowledge of child safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.

Excellent analytical, communication, and multi-agency liaison skills.
