Social Worker – Locality Assessment and CP Team – Wakefield – £35 per hour – Ongoing contract. Join the dynamic Locality Assessment and Child Protection Team in Wakefield as a Social Worker on an ongoing contract. This full-time role, offering hybrid working from the Airedale Centre, provides a supportive environment with one duty week every four weeks and a chance to work with a close-knit team under robust management with regular supervision. Start date is ASAP.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments of children in need and those at risk of harm, creating comprehensive reports to inform protective actions.
  • Engage with children and families, providing support, guidance, and interventions to promote welfare and safeguarding.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to plan and deliver appropriate services.
  • Prepare for and participate in case conferences and multi-agency meetings.
  • Perform one week of duty every four weeks, addressing emergencies and providing immediate support as needed.
Qualifications
  • A degree or equivalent in social work.
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant frontline experience in the UK as a qualified Social Worker, with a focus on safeguarding and assessment.
